"I'm lazy, in this lifetime, I only want to get married once, and have just one wife." Su Mo: "Gu Li Cheng, why do you like me?" He smirked, "Because looking at you makes me want to sleep." Su Mo: "......"
Su Mo had been drinking, but was still fairly sober. She leaned against the wall as she walked out of the bar, tears falling ceaselessly from her eyes.
Her eyes, misty and heartrending under her spectacles, were well hidden by her.
She was dressed in a staid professional suit, her hair meticulously combed back. She contrasted sharply with the glitz and glamor of the bar.
Images of the unbearable scene kept playing in her mind.
Against her parents' wishes, she had left City D and came to this unfamiliar place for her boyfriend, whom she had been in a relationship with since college.
Now, her best friend Yu Wenwan had undercut her, her boyfriend dumped her and they slept together.
She could distinctly remember Gu Weifeng hugging Yu Wenwan on the bed, looking at her indifferently, and saying, "I'm sorry, Mo. I don’t want to live a life without passion. We've been dating for four years, and I can't even hold your hand without your approval. I'm not a monk. Besides, Wenwan is more beautiful and considerate than you, and most importantly, she can satisfy me. Do you know how pleasurable it is when her two creamy thighs wrap around my waist?"
Su Mo tilted her face to disperse her tears, bitterly mocking. The affection and love of the past were now smoke in the wind.
With the alcohol surging, she walked forward discomfortingly, only to suddenly bump into someone.
Before she could react, she was roughly flung aside.
"Damn it, blind woman, watch where you're going, how dare you bump into me!"
Su Mo was in pain, her glasses flew off and her hair fell like a waterfall to her waist, obscuring her fair, creamy cheeks.
Su Mo bit her lip and tried to get up from the ground, but she was pinned back by the punk.
"Let me go!" she struggled.
The punk she bumped into cursed and squatted down with his companions behind him. "Ugh, at a glance, she’s an old maid that makes one lose appetite, but bumping into me means you can't just walk away!"
Su Mo lay helplessly on the ground, biting her tender lips and forcefully enduring the pain.
"Don't touch me!"
Before the yellow-toothed punk could raise his hand, a gust of wind swept through him, the force swift and ruthless. His entire body was flung through the air.
A tall and straight man stood where the neon lights were. The handsome profile of his face came into view intermittently under the flickering lights. He casually unbuttoned the front part of his military shirt.
He dusted off the dirt on his uniform pants with a cold laugh, pulled back his foot, and quickly aimed his gaze at hefty men who had approached him. His fingers slightly curved, and in the shadowy light, he managed to break one man's arm.
In just a minute, a group of thugs hopped, ran, and fled in defeat.
The man who made the move had an overwhelming dominance. The two bars and four stars on his shoulder were dazzling, a clear sign of his strict military training.
His lips carried a slight smile throughout, not reaching his eyes, yet it was enough to send chills down one’s spine. His handsome face and domineering aura, coupled with his tiger skin military boots, were enough to deter them. None of them even saw how he made his move.
He buttoned up his shirt again and cast his gaze over the gathered crowd. In no time, his gaze drove away the spectators who were there for an amusing show.
Suit's drunkenness had faded, and now she lifted her disheveled head and looked at the man who had saved her. Her anxiety and fear had also been washed away.
There was a lump in her throat, but her eyes fell into his inky black depths.
His deeply black yet lively eyes, like a clear pond, seemed to attract her soul. Such a shocking and dazzling man, it was her first time encountering in her life.
"Thank you!"
The man frowned as he looked at the angelic pure and beautiful face that came into his sight. He unconsciously squatted down, his fingers brushed aside her scattered long hair. He felt her silky touch and seemed reluctant to let go.
“Can you stand by yourself?” His voice was deep, like a melodious cello, stirring one's heartstrings.
Su Mo held her breath; his movements and gaze were ambiguously beyond her acceptance, but she forgot to resist.
Biting her lip to brace herself on the ground, she attempted to stand up, only to find herself being lifted from the ground by the waist by a man. His large palm was warm and thick, one hand supporting the bend of her leg, the other threading through her hair.
Screaming, Su Mo clung around his neck, unable to utter a single word. Her glasses-less face turned so red, "You, you..."
The man held her and walked forward, not paying any attention to her feeble resistance.
"What about me? Or would you prefer to lie on the ground and continue being the joke of the night?" He retorted.
Su Mo pursed her lips, observing him in detail - his clean-shaven chin, deep-set eyes like the dark night, his high nose bridge, upright stature, even his firm and bursting muscles were palpable to her. She found her face burning, never having been held by a man this way.
"What is your name?" She gathered her courage to ask in a frail voice, her small hands nervously unsure where to rest.
She then made a significant decision, this man was a good choice. Being mockingly called an "old virgin" by the gang earlier, and the sarcastic gazes of Gu Weifeng and Yu Wenwan seemed to stab her heart like knives.
She didn't want to be her old, reserved self any more.
Gu Licheng opened the car door and set the petite woman in his arms in the passenger seat. His breath was somewhat heated.
She was dressed in a conservative office suit, her hair meticulously combed. Why did she hide such beauty beneath her stern exterior?
Along the way, his intellect almost failed him.
The moment her glasses fell, he had seen her clearly, tears still on her cheeks. Even though there was paleness and desolation, it couldn't hide her beauty - like a heavenly fairy fallen into the mortal world, untainted by the dust of the earth.
Her jet-black hair cascading on his fingers made his throat tighten. Never before had any woman evoked such a desire in him, yet now it was stirred so easily by her, like a dormant beast being unleashed.
He looked at her in reply, "Gu Licheng!"
Mustering up courage that seemed immense, Su Mo's eyes sparkled as she looked at the man leaning over her, "Would you like to have a one-night stand with me?"
